What is Lyracut?

A video editor you direct by talking. Lyracut's analysis engine watches your footage scene by scene, and its editing agent turns natural-language requests into real cuts, captions, and music on a timeline you can still edit by hand.

Do I need editing experience?

No. If you can describe what you want to a friend, you can finish a video. The timeline tools are there when you want fine control, not because you need them.

What does “bring your own AI” mean?

Lyracut ships a built-in editing agent, but the whole editor is also exposed as an MCP server. Point Claude Code, Codex, ChatGPT, or any MCP client at it and your assistant can read the footage analysis, request edits, and set the timeline directly — on the cheaper MCP plans.

Can Lyracut create footage, not just cut it?

Yes — two ways. It searches the web and YouTube for real footage and images for a couple of credits, or generates brand-new b-roll with Lyra Studio, our in-house generation engine, when the shot doesn't exist.

Can I change an edit after the AI makes it?

Both ways, any time. Keep chatting (“drop the music, punchier captions”) or grab the timeline tools — split, clone, shift, delete. Your edits and the AI's live on the same timeline.
